As a parent, I am often looking for family friendly fun. My kids are older, but much of our free time is spent with close friends who have younger kids. When seeking family friendly activities, we are constantly seeking fun for all ages.
Lucky for me, I found the perfect family fun entertainment – The Duttons!
Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets to Duttons show in exchange for my post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
(My photos from that night did not turn out great. This shot was ‘borrowed’ from the Dutton Facebook page. It was a photo taken by Tim Johnson from KSL television on February 6th 2015)
Kadenn and I went with Blended Extended to see the Dutton family perform in East Mesa.
At the time we attended, Kadenn was 9 years old, but I am confident that she would go again if I asked her. I also have utmost faith that Adalynn, age 8, would have a blast. The only one I am not confident about is Blake, although I know he would laugh at some parts!
I know our friends’ kids attend live musicals so I am certain they would sit through this and enjoy it. I don’t feel the show is too long and there is not a lot of down time. The entire show is upbeat and fun.
Okay, back to the Duttons…
The songs are songs that we all know and love. The ability of the musicians is astounding. Even the skits will cause a chuckle.
The Duttons are international touring and recording artists that play everything from bluegrass to classical in their shows, featuring a variety of instruments: violin, guitar, bass, viola, banjo, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica and drums among others. The Duttons have not only won recognition in national fiddling contests, and as studio musicians but have also garnered praise and awards in classical violin competitions.
In addition to their instrumental virtuosity, the Duttons are accomplished singers and dancers and have been recognized as superb vocal talents. Behind the scenes, The Duttons collaborate to create unique production ideas for their shows which delight audiences. The show is self produced by the family including choreography, musical arrangement, technical support, production, and marketing, the end result of which is the audience streaming from the theater proclaiming, “This is the best show I have ever seen in my life!”
The entire show was family from young to old and so was the audience! Plus, it is family friendly, making it appropriate for all ages.
The Duttons are currently back in Branson, but be sure to follow their social media to watch for their return to Arizona! They are certainly a ‘don’t miss event’!
